SLOG Apple trees

We have now carried out our grafting of a wide variety of local, heritage and popular varieties. These maiden trees will be available from September, and we'll put the list on the website soon.

There will be a working party at the SLOG Orchard starting at 10am on Saturday 17th March.

We plan to dig out the compost heap and spread compost around the trees along with blood, fish & bone fertiliser. Three trees needs removing and replacing by others, some trees need long canes inserting and tying in, all ties need checking and many need loosening etc etc.

Tools needed will be forks & spades. Gardening gloves are recommended. A wheelbarrow would be useful if anybody can bring one. Timings are flexible, you can join in anytime and even if you can only spare an hour, that's fine.

We hope to finish by 1pm.
